The Troy Trojans enter the 25th year under head coach Larry Blakeney and are looking for a solid season. The 2014 Troy Trojans Schedule features six home and road games this season with a couple of tough ones on each side.
Blakeney has won 174 games in 24 years as a head coach for the Troy Trojans and he should be able to continue to stockpile victories this year. They're going to have to replace starting quarterback Corey Robinson, however. Robinson tossed for more than 3,200 yards last season. They have a couple of different guys that could step up and win the job this season, but it's hard to imagine them being able to replicate the job Robinson did last year.
The offensive line was awesome last year as well, allowing just 19 sacks. They return this season, which should help solidify the quarterback position.
They don't have receiver Eric Thomas, who set all kinds of records, back this season after graduation. They have a couple of guys back from last year that can come together as a pretty good unit, led by Bryan Holmes and K.D. Edenfield, both juniors.
Don't forget about Jordan Chunn at tailback, either. He was a freshman last season and scored 14 touchdowns, which led all frosh in the country.
Defensively, the Trojans are in trouble. They allowed opponents to score an average of 36 points per game last year and more than 480 yards per game, the worst in the Sun Belt. If the defense can play well this season, we see Troy being able to replicate their six wins last season, if not more.
