The Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers hit the field tonight in exhibition action. The NFL Preseason Odds for the game have the Bills favored in this matchup.

Carolina opened as a small favorite in this contest, which takes place in the first week of the NFL Preseason. But Buffalo has drawn a lot of action in this contest and now are laying two points on the road. That's really no surprise as they have already played a game, falling to the New York Giants in the Hall of Fame game. 

Both Buffalo and the Giants will each play five total preseason games. Tonight, will the Bills first string players get more than a single series in? Certainly for conditioning and depth reasons, a team playing in their second preseason game only wants to work on getting better. Rebounding from their loss to the Giants last Sunday, the Bills are in a better position to win this game compared to Carolina, because they at least know what they have going for them.

Don't expect Cam Newton to play a lot, either. We've seen most of the star quarterbacks in this league play a series or two. Peyton Manning played maybe a little longer than expected, but getting work in for starting quarterbacks can only benefit teams at this point.

Because Buffalo already played a game they should look sharper tonight than Carolina. The Panthers definitely have the better defense and run game, but in a game where backups are going to determine who wins and loses, this game is a toss up. Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel does have the ability to be a breakout star this season and he could see some extra time tonight.

We'll suggest the Bills in this one, mainly for the fact this is their second game of the preseason.
