The Baltimore Orioles take on the Seattle Mariners tonight in the second game of their series. The game is scheduled for a 10:10 p.m. (EST) start time and it will be televised live on MLB.tv. Currently the Major League Baseball Odds for the game have Seattle listed as the favorite in this one.
Felix Hernandez gets the ball tonight for Seattle. He's arguably the best pitcher in the league and tonight will look to get Seattle another win at home. The Mariners are four games under the .500 mark for the season in games played at home. That has them sitting in third place in the American League West, but if they are able to start picking up wins at home and piecing things together, they're going to get into the post season.
Tonight Hernandez will look to keep Baltimore off balanced. The Orioles beat Seattle 4-0 last night. And the pitching wasn't exactly bad for Seattle, but the offense kept them from being able to pick up the win.
Baltimore is eight games above .500 on the road and lead the American League East. Another win here tonight on the road will guarantee them at least a split in this series with the Mariners. Baltimore is giving the rock to Kevin Gausman, who has a 4.04 ERA on the season.
In his first full time season as a starter, Gausman has better numbers overall on the road. He's going to have to pitch well tonight, but not try to go pitch for pitch with Hernandez. If he tries to overachieve tonight, the Mariners will be able to score some runs.
This game should be a pretty low-scoring game between these clubs. Hernandez is one of the best in recent times to take to the mound and he is going to pitch the Mariners to a win tonight.
