Analysis:  The St Louis Cardinals have just lost Yadier Molina for an extended time, but still they still have won the first 2 games of this series and have now tied the Brewers for first place in the NL Central. The Cardinals have struggled on offense this year as they come in ranked 11th year in scoring (4.27 rpg), 18th in hitting (.249) and 8th in the league in homers (90). The Pitching for the Cardinals has not been good at all, as they are 25th in the league in ERA (4.22) and 28th in WHIP (1.40). Getting the ball for the Cardinals today will be Carlos Martinez, who spent time in the bullpen this year, but is 2-0 with a 3.33 ERA in 5 starts. Carlos has faced the brewers 7 times in relief in his career and has yet to allow an ER to them in 9.2 innings of work.

Milwaukee is reeling right now, as they come in having lost 7 in a row and 11 of their last 12 games. The Brewers did have a sizeable lead in the NL Central, but now they are tied with the Cardinals for first place. The Brewers offense has been solid this year, ranking 25th in scoring (3.80 rpg), 23rd in hitting (.244) and 25th in homers (66). The pitching has been very poor for the Brewers, as they come in ranked 18th in ERA (3.87) and 18th in WHIP (1.31). Getting the ball for the Brewers will be Wily Peralta, who is 9-6 with a 3.95 ERA on the year, while at home he has gone 4-4 with a 4.69 ERA. Wily is also just 2-3 with a 6.26 ERA in 5 career starts vs the Cardinals. 

Pick:  I will be looking at the Cards to complete the sweep here. Carlos Martinez comes in with a 3.57 ERA in his last 3 starts and as a starter this year the Cards are 5-0 in his starts. Wily Peralta is struggling mightily right now, as he has a 9.37 ERA and a 2.02 WHIP in his last 3 starts. The Cards are hot while the Brewers are fading and I see that continuing here as the Cards win this game and take over 1st place in the NL Central.
