The World Cup has reached the tournament stage and on Tuesday Argentina will take on Switzerland in the final day for teams to reach the quarterfinals. The World Cup Odds for the match have Argentina listed as a solid favorite to advance in the tournament.

In group stage matches, Argentina dominated en route to three victories and the top overall spot. But not everything is as good as it may seem with Sergio Aguero being ruled out for what many believe is the rest of the World Cup. Aguero isn't playing at the same level he has in the past for the Argentines, but he's still a veteran presence that will be missed on the field. We'll see what Argentina decides to do in this match. Switzerland will also be playing without one of their starters as Steve von Bergen busted up his eye (literally) in a loss to France during the group stage and won't play the rest of the way.

All Argentina has needed to this point in the World Cup is Lionel Messi, who has been finding the back of the net. Xherdan Shaqiri has been playing amazing for the Swiss as well, logging a hat trick against Honduras.

Switzerland last played in the jungle in Manaus and has traveled to Sao Paulo, but they've had a couple of days off, so they should be pretty well rested to this point. Switzerland has been pretty hard to predict to this point in the tournament, with wins over Ecuador and Honduras but an awful loss to France. They looked very good against Honduras, which was their final group stage, but will they be able to play with the same intensity in this matchup? Surely Argentina is better than Honduras and will cause the Swiss to have to elevate their levels even more.

Expect Switzerland to force someone other than Messi to beat them. That's easier said than done, but we expect the Swiss to have a plan in place to deter him. Also, Switzerland goalie Diego Benaglio had a solid matchup against Honduras and he could be the key to their success in this matchup.

While Switzerland could cause Argentina some problems with their defense, we expect Messi and the Argentines to win. Switzerland has the offensive weapons as well, but we really like the way Argentina is playing.
