NHL Playoffs Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 Montreal Canadiens vs New York Rangers Start Time, Odds, Pick

Canadiens vs. Bruins: Preview and Prediction for NHL Playoffs 2014 Matchup

The Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers meet up tonight in Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Finals matchup in the NHL Playoffs. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network. The NHL Odds for the game have the Rangers favored in this game at home.

New York can reach the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since the 1994 season with a single victory in one of these last two games. The Rangers had a shot in Game 5 as well, but Montreal showed up with the confidence needed in order to capture a win on home ice to stay alive.

It was an offensive barrage by the Canadiens in that game as well. Montreal scored seven goals on just 28 shots and chased Henrik Lundqvist after he stopped just 15 shots on 19 attempts for Montreal. Cam Talbot came on in relief and actually didn't do any better, allowing a pair of third period goals while seeing just eight shots by the Habs.

Dustin Tokarski stopped 23 Rangers shots in Game 5, Rene Borque connected for a hat trick and the Canadiens were loving life. But how will they respond after scoring at will and making it look easy?

The Rangers don't want to have to head back to Montreal for a seventh and all-deciding game in this series. New York was not the best team at home this season, but this certainly looks like their best option to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. The Rangers won both games in Montreal to open the series before splitting their games at Madison Square Garden.

But then again, maybe the Rangers are destined to play seven games in this series. Both of their previous playoff series this post season went to a deciding game. No team that played a pair of seven-game series before the conference finals has reached the Stanley Cup Finals.

But tonight, we like Lundqvist to show up big for his team. The Rangers are on the verge of something special and they have an opportunity to end this series in this contest. We expect a close contest between these clubs, but in the end look for Lundqvist to show up large for his team and propel them for a shot at the Stanley Cup.
