Memorial Day Major League Baseball Boston Red Sox vs Atlanta Braves Start Time, Odds

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves Game 2: Live Score, NLDS Highlights

Memorial Day Major League Baseball takes place Monday when the Boston Red Sox take on the Atlanta Braves. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Atlanta favored to pick up the win.

Boston has seen their season fall into a tailspin, losers of 10 straight contests. Now they'll look to try and get back on track against the Atlanta Braves, who have one of the best records in the National League.

The Red Sox find themselves a full eight games back in the American League East already, but there still is plenty of baseball to go this season. Atlanta, on the other hand, sports a 28-21 record and they lead the National League East by three games.

In this game today, the Red Sox will hand the ball to Clay Bucholz. The right-hander holds a 2-4 record on the season with a 6.32 ERA in nine starts this season. Boston has lost three straight Bucholz starts, all of which saw him give up at least nine hits and fail to get out of the sixth inning. His ERA so far this season is almost double what Bucholz has posted in his career.

Boston is just 10-12 on the road this season, but that's still better than they have been inside of Fenway Park, where they have lost 17 games already. Atlanta is a pretty solid team in home games this season, sporting a record of 18-10 inside Turner Field.

Atlanta will see Ervin Santana look to get back on track on the mound. Santana has lost two straight starts, giving up 11 earned runs in losses to the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. Prior to that, Santana had won four of his six starts this season.

The Braves haven't had the best offensive club this season, ranking in the bottom ranks of many batting categories. Facing a beat-up Boston pitching staff might be just the right thing the Braves need. Boston has given up 53 runs in the 10 straight games they've lost. If the pitching staff keeps them in games, the Red Sox struggle to score runs — Boston has just 26 runs in those 10 games they've lost. The pitching and offense are struggling, so this team is just not one we can back right now.
