NBA Free Picks Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets Game 3

Saturday night NBA Playoff action, as the Miami Heat will be taking on the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This is game 3 of their best of 7 series. The game has a start time of 8:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ABC. Vegas odds have the Heat listed as 2 point favorites, while the total sits at 189.

Analysis: The Miami Heat came into the playoffs as the #2 seed in the East and they are playing like it as they have yet to lose a gfame in these playoffs. In this series so far the Heat have won by 21 and 12 points. Miami has gone 24-19 on the road, but they did lose both games played at Brooklyn this year. The Heat averaged solid 102.1 ppg overall this year and were the top shooting team in the league, connecting on 50.1% of their shots. So far in the playoffs Miami have scored 101.8 ppg on 49.4% shooting. In the playoffs the offense has been led by whoever but Lebron James, who is averaging 27.3 ppg so far, while also leading the team in Rebounding (6.8) and assists (5.0). Dwayne Wade (16.3 ppg) and Chris Bosh (15.2 ppg) have also averaged in double figures for the Heat so far. Defensively the Heat were are a solid bunch this year, allowing just 97.4 ppg (5th) on 45.7% shooting (16th) they have been much better in the playoffs, allowing just 89.3 ppg on 44.8% shooting.

The Brooklyn Nets took their first series going 7 games vs the Toronto, but it looks as they will be on the short end of an early exit in this round 2 series vs the Miami Heat. The Nets are in an 0-2 hole, but they are at home for this one, where they have gone 30-14 on the year and have won both regular season meeting here vs the Heat. The Nets averaged just 98.5 ppg on the year overall, and in the playoffs it has been a bit worse as they have averaged just 94.7 ppg on 44.8% shooting so far. In the playoffs, Joe Johnson has led the team in scoring with 23.3 ppg, while Deron Williams (15.0 ppg) and Paul Pierce (12.8 ppg) round out the double digit scorers on the team. Kevin Garnett leads the team in rebounding (6.0 rpg), while Williams has led them in assists (5.3 apg). On the defensive end of the floor the Nets have been solid this year allowing just 99.4 ppg during the regular season and they have been a bit better in the playoffs so far, allowing just 97.1 ppg on 46.1% shooting.

Pick: Im going to continue with the Heat here. I just don't think the Nets have what it takes to play a full game vs a heat team that can just turn in on when they want anytime during the game. I also don't see the Heat saying that they could care less about a game. They keep hearing how this is not as good a team as their previous championship teams, plus after being swept in the regular season by the Nets, I can see the Heat wanting to return the favor in the post-season. Miami is fully focused for this post-season and I don't feel that the Nets have what it takes to win even 1 game in this series, even on their home floor.
