Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Clippers Game 5 Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs continues on Tuesday Night and we will see Golden State Warriors travel to Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers in game 5 of their best-of-seven series. The game has a start time of 10:35 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on TNT. Vegas odds have the Clippers listed as 7 point favorites, while the total sits at 210.

Stat Packs: The Golden State Warriors have reached the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 1991 and 1992 and they are making the most of it so far by earning a split with the Clippers after the first 4 games.  The Warriors have gone 25-18 on the road this year, but are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs the Clippers at the Staples Center. Golden State averaged 104.3 ppg during the regular season, and has scored 105.3 pg in this series so far. During the playoffs so far the offense has been led by Steph Curry, who has averaged 21.8 ppg, while Klay Thompson (17.5 ppg), David Lee (14.5 ppg) and Andre Iguodala (11.3 ppg) round out the top 4 scorers on the team. At the defensive end of the floor the Warriors have been solid this year ranking 10th in points allowed (99.5 ppg), 4th in defensive FG% (43.6%) and 4th in 3pt defense (34.4%), but the high powered Clippers have scored 109.5 ppg on them in the playoffs so far.

The LA Clippers came into the playoffs as the 3rd seed, but the Donald Sterling distraction and on the court inconsistent play has them wondering if they will make it out of the first round. The Clippers still have won 22 of their last 29 games and they are 35-8 on their home floor this year. Offensively they came into the playoffs as the top scoring team in the league and they come into this one as the 3rd ranked scoring offense in the playoffs, averaging 109.5 ppg so far.  In the playoffs, Blake Griffin leads the offense with 26.0 ppg, while Chris Paul (17.8 ppg), JJ Reddick (14.3 ppg) and Jamal Crawford (14.3 ppg) also average in double figures for the Clippers. Defensively the Clippers have allowed 101.0 ppg overall for the year, including 100.6 ppg at home, but vs the Warriors they have allowed 105.3 ppg so far.

Pick: Going to look at the Clippers here. This is a Statement game for LA and now that a decision on Sterling has been made they can breathe a bit easier now. They can now pay basketball without pressure and that can only mean bad news for the Warriors here. Remember that the last game on this floor as a 40 point blowout by the Clippers, so they are more than capable of an easy win again. This is not a good spot for the Warriors to be in. I see the Clippers winning by at least 10 points here.
