NCAA Basketball Picks CBI Finals Fresno State Bulldogs vs Siena Saints

It's the finals of the CBI Tournament and we will see the Fresno State Bulldogs travel east to take on the Siena Saints in the 3rd and final game of the 2 out of 3 series. The game has a start time of 11:30 am (Eastern) and will be televised on CBSSN. Vegas odds have the Bulldogs listed as 1 point favorites, while the total sits at 136.

Stat Pack: Fresno State got to the finals of this tournament by beating UTEP, Princeton and Old Dominion. The finals of this tournament are the best two out of three and each won on the other floor. Fresno State is a solid offensive team that averages 72.9 ppg on 44.2% shooting for the year. They are very good from the FT line, hitting 73.1% from the charity stripe, to rank 60th in the nation. The Offense is led by Tyler Johnson, who averages 15.8 ppg, while close behind is Marvelle Harris, who averages 14.5 ppg on the year. Cezar Guerrero (12.9 ppg) and Paul Watson (10.1 ppg) also average in double figures for the Bulldogs, while Tyler Johnson leads them in rebounding at 7.2 rpg. Defensively this an average team as they allow 70.2 ppg (180th) on 32.8% shooting overall (131st) and 30.9% from long range (31st)

For Siena, they come in at 19-18 on the year and dispatched of Stony Brook, Penn State and Illinois State to get to the finals, before winning a game at Fresno and losing a game to the Bulldogs at home. The Saint are a weak offensive team as they rank 228th in scoring (69.0 ppg), 294th in shooting overall (41.9) and 32.6% from long range (262nd). They are a solid 108th in FT shooting, hitting 71.8% from the charity stripe. The offense is led by Rob Poole, who averages 14.4 ppg, while Bret Bisping leads the team in rebounding (6.5 rpg) and is the only other player on the team that averages in double figures, as he scores 11.3 ppg. Lavan Long is just outside the DD mark, scoring 9.5 ppg, while overall 8 players average at least 3.9 ppg, making this a pretty deep team. Defensively the Saints are average as they allow 70.1 ppg (177th), but they do allow teams to shoot just 41.7% from the field, which is 82nd in the nation.

Pick: Yes we will be going with the Under in this one. Saints games have gone 25-9-1 to the Under this year and they play good enough defense to keep this Fresno State team at bay. The Saints have allowed just 66 ppg at home and have given up just 60.4 pg in their last 5 overall. Fresno state has been playing solid defense of well as they come in allowing just 62.4 ppg in their last 5 games and the saints have scored just 63.4 ppg in their last 5 games. This is for all the marbles in the CBI Tournament and that should lead to a pretty slow pace and more defense down the stretch. Look for this game to be played in the 120s.
