College Basketball Picks Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Florida State Seminoles

NCAA basketball on Sunday night and we will see the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets travel to Tallahassee, Florida to take on the Florida State Seminoles. The game has a start time of 6:00 pm (Eastern) and will be televised on ESPN U. Vegas odds have the Seminoles listed as 9 point favorites, while the total is set at 134.

Analysis: Georgia Tech is having a rough year as they come in at 13-15 overall and 4-11 in the ACC. They have lost 3 in a row and have really struggled on the offensive end of the floor of late, averaging 54.6 ppg in their last 6 games. Overall the Yellow Jackets have averaged just 66.5 ppg on 43.4% shooting this year. The offense is led by Trae Golden, who scores 12.6 ppg, while Marcus Georges-Hunt is second on the team at 12.1 ppg. Daniel Miller add in 11 ppg, while Robert Carters scores 10 ppg and leads the team in rebounding at 8.6 rpg. The Tech defense has been decent this year as they come in allowing just 66.8 ppg on 42.1% shooting.

The Florida State Seminoles come in at 16-11 overall and 7-8 in the ACC. FSU has slumped as well of late as they come in winners of just 3 of their last 9 games. Their are 8-4 at home overall, but have dropped 3 of their last 4 here. The FSU offense averages a modest 71.2 ppg, but they do shoot the ball well at 46.4% overall (71st) and 36.9% from long range (74th). The offense is led by Ian Miller, who averages 13.8 ppg, while Aaron Thomas is right on his heels with 13.6 ppg. Okaro White is 3rd in scoring at 12.5 ppg, while leading the team in rebounding. The Seminoles are a solid defensive squad as they come in allowing just 65.3 ppg (56th) on 39.1% shooting (14th).

Pick:  I like the Under in this game. Can the Techies really score enough points to put this game over the total. I think not. Georgia Tech has been pathetic on offense of late, scoring just 54.6 ppg in their last 6 games. They may not get a whole lot more than that in this one vs an FSU defense that has allowed just 63.3 ppg on 39.6% shooting at home. The Tech defense has been solid this year as well as they have allowed just 66.8 ppg overall on 42.1% shooting overall and 67.8 ppg on 42.9% shooting on the road. Georgia Tech will look to slow the pace as they just don't have the offense for a run and gun game and FSU is not adverse to playing at a slow pace. Both teams play vs good defense and only in team can score. This one should stay in the 120's
