College Basketball Kansas Jayhawks vs Baylor Bears Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The No. 8 Kansas Jayhawks hit the road again tonight when they take on the Baylor Bears in Big 12 college basketball action. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have Kansas as a small road favorite in this one.

Kansas lost in their last game on the road Saturday at Texas, a game where they really never got going offensively. The Jayhawks just beat Baylor last week and they still sit atop the Big 12 standings. The Bears were ranked not too long ago but now they've struggled in conference play. Wayne Selden Jr. has really stepped up for the Jayhawks recently and he'll probably continue to get a lot of minutes tonight.

Outside of Selden, Kansas has two of the best freshmen in the country with Andrew Wiggins and Joel Embiid. Both should be able to have great games against a Baylor defense that has struggled in league play. Embiid will battle on the interior with Baylor bigman Isaiah Austin, who is very soft and prefers to shoot 3-pointers than bang around in the paint.

Wiggins struggled against Texas, but had been pouring the ball in the hoop at better than 24 points per game. Perry Ellis could play a big role in this game as well with Kansas. He averages better than 13 points and six rebounds per game.

Baylor will be looking to avoid their first four-game home losing streak since 2004-05. But, a victory here tonight would give Baylor their first wins in consecutive games over ranked opponents in school history. Cory Jefferson is a double-double machine, but he's got his work cut out for him tonight against Kansas, a really good rebounding team. The 3-point specialist Brady Heslip might have some trouble getting shots off as well with the length of Kansas.

Kansas has won 20 of the 24 meetings with Baylor in this series. But Baylor is going to keep this one close. The Bears seem to have some new life infused into themselves after beating No. 8 Oklahoma State on Saturday. Now they're gaining confidence and a victory tonight over Kansas would certainly propel them back into the Big 12 standings.

Free Pick: Baylor 71, Kansas 68
