Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets NBA Odds

The Miami Heat continue their road swing tonight as they square off against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. Tip off in this evening's clash between the Heat and Nets is set for 8:00pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN. Friday NBA Odds have Miami listed as a -5 against the spread road favorite and the Over/Under set at 194.5 points.

The defending champion Heat are usually anathema to the league's other top teams, but they are not immune to the occasional letdown against some of the league's lesser clubs. Need proof? Miami, which has only dropped nine of its 36 games, owns losses to the Sixers, Nets, Celtics, Pistons, Bulls, and Kings.

The Heat experienced another such hiccup last night when they ventured into Madison Square Garden to face the 13-22 Knicks. New York, which admittedly has played better of late, topped Miami 102-92 after knocking down 44-of-82 from the field and scoring a 43 to 32 edge on the glass.

Miami did shoot an impressive 54.4 percent for the game, but it attempted 14 fewer shots than the Knicks.

The Heat, who opened a six game road swing last night, are now tasked with getting back on track against a Nets team that defeated them 101-100 at the Barclays Center on November 1st.

Brooklyn's 14-21 record would indicate it is not a team worth fearing, but it appears to have turned a corner of late. The Nets, who wrap up a four game home stand this evening, won their fourth straight game on Wednesday night, taking out the red hot Warriors 102-98.

Prior to facing Golden State, Brooklyn scored home wins over Cleveland and Atlanta; its four game winning streak began with a 95-93 road win over Oklahoma City on January 2nd.

Series Notes: The Nets had dropped 13 straight regular season meetings with the Heat before their unlikely November 1st win over the defending champs.

Notable Trends: Brooklyn is 1-9 both straight up and against the spread in its last 10 games as a home underdog with a spread between 4 and 7.5 points and total between 190 and 195 points.

Miami Heat vs Brooklyn Nets NBA Odds:

Miami Heat -5 (-110), Over 194.5 (-110), -215 (Moneyline)

Brooklyn Nets +5 (-110), Under 194.5 (-110), +180 (Moneyline)
