AFC Divisional Playoffs Indianapolis Colts vs New England Patriots Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots meet on the gridiron Saturday in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. The game is scheduled for an 8:15 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have New England favored by a touchdown to win.

The New England Patriots begin their quest for another Super Bowl title by hosting the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. Indy won last week over the Kansas City Chiefs, who got really beat up in that game and lost several players by the end of the contest.

Can the Colts go into Foxboro and beat Tom Brady and the Pats? New England at this time of year is certainly focused. In their last playoff game, which was the AFC title game last season, New England got beat at home by the Baltimore Ravens, who went on to win the Super Bowl.

Brady and the boys lost four games this season, but by a combined 18 points. Bill Belichick and his squad have an extra week to prepare for Indy. The Colts finished off the second best comeback win in playoff history after trailing Kansas City 38-10 but coming back to win. That was also the Colts' first win in the playoffs without Peyton Manning since 1996. So there's that.

Andrew Luck can whip it around. But the Colts probably won't be abandoning the run game in this one. The Patriots are one of the worst rush defenses in the league, allowing better than 134 yards on the ground per game. Luck threw for four TDs last week and 443 yards as well. The offensive attack for Indy can score some points.

Both teams finished with decent turnover differentials as the Pats were +9 and the Colts were +10. Having not played last week, the Pats should be ready to go. However not all teams that have that week of rest come out well in the Divisional game. Each of the past three Super Bowl winners played on Wild Card weekend.

But the Colts aren't going to be in a dome here. New England weather for Saturday won't be ideal for Indianapolis. And the Pats don't have Rob Gronkowski on the field, which is a negative for them.

The Pats averaged almost 28 points per game this season. But how can they shake off losing five of their last eight playoff games? Belichick's teams have won 14 of the last 15 games at Gillette Stadium (loss to Baltimore the only one) and Brady has a record of 17-7 in the playoffs during his career.

And as great as Brady is, we like the Patriot rush attack to be the difference. LeGarrette Blount, Steven Ridley and Shane Vereen combined for 18 TDs on the ground in the last 11 years. The Colts rank 26th best against the run. This is where New England wins the game.
