NFL Point Spreads Jacksonville Jaguars vs Indianapolis Colts

The Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Indianapolis Colts in this Week 17 Matchup at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis. The game will be televised on CBS and has a start time of 1:00 pm (Eastern). Current odds have Indianapolis listed as 10.5 point favorites, while the total sits at 45

Analysis: With four wins in the season's second half, the Jaguars have not only escaped the AFC's South Division cellar, but they could finish ahead of as many as six other teams who enter Week 17 with four or fewer wins. The Jaguars are last in the NFL in scoring (15.8 ppg) and total offense (290.1 ypg) and a breight spot for this offense has been TE Marcedes Lewis, who has caught a touchdown pass in four straight games and needs six catches to become the fourth player in franchise history with 300 receptions. Marice Jones-Drew only has one 100-yard effort this season while averaging a career-low 3.5 per carry, but has rushed for 1,412 yards against the Colts, in his career, which is the most against any opponent. The defense has been hit with key injuries late in the season, which has contributed to the Jaguars allowing 380 rushing yards over their past two games.

With an outside shot at a first-round bye, the Colts can head into the playoffs having matched their season-best winning streak if they can beat the Jaguars Sunday. The offense has piled up 76 points over the past 10 quarters thanks in part to a rejuvenated running game that has totaled 287 yards in their last 2 games after averaging 78.5 ypg on the ground in their previous 6 games. Andrew Luck has stepped up his game of late, completing 64.3% pf his passes with 7 TDs and just 1 INT over his last three games. Luck (7,914) needs seven passing yards to surpass Cam Newton for the most by an NFL player in his first two seasons.  The Colts have forced 10 turnovers in their last three wins and have been especially tough against the pass in recent weeks. The Colts are trying to finish with a perfect record against the AFC South for the first time since the division was created in 2002.

Pick: I expect a rout by the Colts here. They need to win this game if they have any hopes of a 1st round bye, plus they are also looking to finish the season 6-0 vs the AFC South division. The Colts beat the Jags 37-3 earlier and the year and they are playing very well once again, and should head into the playoffs on a high note with a 2 TD+ win here.
