The Seattle Seahawks head east to take on the New York Giants in NFL action today. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have Seahawks favored by a touchdown on the road.

Hard to believe that a team is favored by a touchdown on the road. But then again, it is the best team in football taking on the struggling New York Giants. Tom Coughlin's team is not having the type of season that they expected and they're on the outside looking in for the playoffs in the NFC. In fact, they've been eliminated from playing in the playoffs all together.

Typically, we'd like talented team like the Giants, at home, playing a West Coast team in the 1 o'clock slot. And we'd like them even more if they were getting this many points, no matter how bad we thought they were. This seems like a situational play with the Giants, so make sure to treat cautiously with this one. It's hard to back a team like this with the way Eli Manning is playing at quarterback.

The Giants blew a huge opportunity last week in San Diego. Now they can play the spoiler role against a Seattle team that has been dominant all season. They're traveling across the country, however, and still playing in that early game. Plus they are coming off a tough loss last week against San Francisco last week on the road.

Andre Brown has been a pretty decent spot for the Giants from the running back position lately. But Victor Cruz and the Giant receivers have had a tough season, stemming from Manning's struggles this year.

Here's one of the reasons each team is where they are — the Giants are -13 in turnover differential this season while the Seahawks are +12 for the season. Seattle has also covered in nine of their 13 games this season while the Giants have covered the number just five times.

Russell Wilson has been solid for the Seahawks all season. Add to that Marshawn Lynch and the running game and Seattle is a dominant offensive unit. Seattle has won seven of eight games overall.

But in the end, this looks like a situational spot for the Giants, who shouldn't be this much of an underdog in this spot. They're just 2-4 against the number in home games this season and are an average running team, collecting just 88 yards per game on the ground.

This one screams Seattle, but we like the Giants to hang around, especially if you can get the touchdown with the hook.
