2013 SEC Championship Game Auburn Tigers vs Missouri Tigers Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The 2013 SEC Championship Game will feature the Auburn Tigers taking on the Missouri Tigers. The game is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on CBS. Currently the odds for the game have Missouri favored by a point, but the line has been swinging back and forth for both teams.

Will the run for the SEC continue in the BCS National Championship game? Many people believe that will come to an end this season as both Florida State and Ohio State are unbeaten and ranked 1-2 in the rankings. Auburn and Missouri each have one loss this season and it would probably take either of these teams to win by 30-plus points to somehow skip the Buckeyes in the rankings. It's possible, but probably not going to happen either way.

The game is being played in the Georgia Dome again this season. Auburn should feel pretty lucky to be in this situation. Remember they needed a deflection for a long touchdown to beat Georgia late in the game and needed arguably the best play in the history of college football last week to remain at 11-1 this season. If Alabama doesn't miss three field goals, this is the Crimson Tide taking on Missouri. But alas, it's not and we have Auburn and Mizzou going at it.

Hard to believe, but each of these teams finished with losing records last season. Missouri has turned it around by scoring points — on average the Tigers are taking down opponents by nearly 20 points per game. Both Auburn and Missouri played five common opponents this season. Auburn lost to LSU while Missouri fell to South Carolina in overtime in their own house. It will be interesting to see how many Auburn fans pack the Georgia Dome.

Will Auburn be able to bottle up what they did against Alabama last week and come out with the same intensity this week? It would be remarkable to say the least, but remember Missouri also had to knock off Texas A&M last weekend in an emotional game as well. Neither one of these teams are used to playing for titles (save for Auburn and Cam Newton a few years back).

James Franklin is back in the pocket for the Missouri offense that was pretty balanced this season — running for better than 2,800 yards and 3,000 passing yards. Auburn is one of the better running teams in the country, so we know what they will want to do against Missouri in this contest.

Auburn has won eight straight games and Missouri has won four in a row. Tre Mason is running the show and has an outside shot to be invited to the Heisman Trophy presentation in New York if he has a big game in thias one. The Tigers average better than 318 yards on the ground per game.

We expect a great game here between two very good teams. Missouri has cashed in nine of the last 11 games overall and have covered all five times on the road this season. They're listed as the "road" team in this game as well, but will the trend continue? We believe Missouri has the better overall defense between these two clubs. Auburn will be able to run the ball and Missouri will score points, but we'll take the Mizzou defense to get a stop or two.
