College Football Boise State Broncos vs New Mexico Lobos Start Time, Odds, Free Pick

The Boise State Broncos welcome in the New Mexico Lobos in college football action tonight. The game is scheduled for a 10:15 (EST) p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Currently the odds for the game have Boise State favored at home by five touchdowns.

Boise State is always a fun team to watch. They play on that blue field and they're always pulling out all the stops to try and win a football game. It's probably the final home game for the Broncos under coach Chris Peterson, who is rumored to be a hot coaching candidate at several big schools. And what more does he have to prove at Boise State?

This game was close last season, but this game is being played on that blue field. This year New Mexico is playing without their quarterback Cole Gautsche and running back Kasey Carrier. Hard to replace those types of guys with the offensive system that New Mexico is running.

Boise's team this season isn't a typical squad, having already lost four games. They were beaten last week by San Diego State in overtime. They also lost to Fresno State earlier this season in Mountain West Conference play. But being a five touchdown favorite over the Lobos in this game leads us to believe they'll probably pick up a victory.

Grand Hedrick has stepped in via injury at the quarterback position for the Broncos and he's thrown for better than 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns this year. He should be able to let the ball fly in this game.

New Mexico has given up 66 and 69 points in their last two games. Ugh. For the season they're giving up an average of 42.5 points per game to opponents. Boise State should have no problem getting to a number like that, especially at home in the final game of the season.

Boise State will be going to a bowl game because they travel well and are a team that people enjoy watching. But they won't be there mentally just yet, we think this game will resemble that of the 2011 contest where the Broncos dominated from the opening whistle.

Free Pick: Boise State 55, New Mexico 17
