The top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide welcome in the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday in college football action. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the Tide favored by four touchdowns.
Arkansas is on the tail end of a very daunting six-game stretch where they might lose each one. They opened at a pesky Rutgers team that is a lot better than maybe the national thoughts are and this week they have No. 1 Alabama. The Tide will be looking to win their seventh game of the season and the fourth in conference to date.
Bret Bielema's team has lost four straight to this point, matching the longest streak in the coach's career. The Hogs are just 3-4 after a solid start to the campaign and it doesn't look like they will win another game — maybe Mississippi State in a few weeks. They'll certainly be underdogs in all but that game against the Bulldogs with tilts against Ole Miss, Auburn and LSU still on the horizon.
More bad news for Arkansas? Alabama has won 27 straight games over unranked opponents when playing at home. The Tide also have won six in a row over the Razorbacks, including last season's 52-0 rout in Fayetteville. Alabama has also covered in four of five games against Arkansas. The Tide are also just 3-6 against the number their last nine games overall at home.
Nick Saban said safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix would be back on the field for this game after sitting out a few for accepting a loan less than $500 from an assistant coach. Sometimes the NCAA can really be a a joke. Not sure how much he'll play in this game tonight but with the lowly Hogs coming to town, it's not like Alabama really needs him to play a full game.
The Hogs got drilled last week by South Carolina, 52-7. That game was at home in front of their own fans. How will Bielema's team play today in front of a rowdy crowd in Tuscalooa? Our guess is probably not good. Pig Suey struggles to score points consistently this year at just 23 per clip. Guaranteed they don't reach that number here today. This has blowout written all over it. A.J. McCarron and the boys should have an easy time.
