College football is back and an under-the-radar game for Saturday will see the Washington State Huskies take on the Auburn Tigers. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPNU. Currently the odds for the game have Auburn favored by a couple of touchdowns.

The power of the SEC is alive and well in this game. Auburn is favored by two touchdowns in a contest between two teams that aren't very good to begin with. This will be the second time these two clubs have taken to the field. Back in 2006 was Auburn was a force they clubbed the Cougars 40-14.

Washington State is not in a good situation right now. They've lost seven straight road opening contests by an average of nearly four touchdowns. Hard to believe that a Pac-12 team is being taken to the wood shed repeatedly by other teams to start the season.

Conditioning should be an important part of this game. It's nasty down south, very hot and muggy and sticky and Washington State probably isn't going to be able to handle that. Auburn practices in it every day and they'll be ready for the hot weather.

We like Gus Malzahn as the skipper of the Tigers' program. This will be his official coaching debut as the head coach and he knows how to get it done. Auburn could be a lot better this season, having a number of returning starters back from last season, including all four guys from the secondary. We know Washington State will love to chuck the rock, so having some experience back there should help the Tigers.

Auburn should hammer down in this one. It's hard to imagine them as a double digit favorite over anybody, but Washington State is really that poor of a team.
