2013 NFL Preseason Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks

Tonight the 2013 NFL Preseason continues as the Denver Broncos head west to take on the Seattle Seahawks. The game is scheduled for a 10:00 p.m. EST start time and it will be televised locally in both markets. Currently the odds for the game have the Seahawks favored to win the contest.

Many people believe this could be a potential Super Bowl matchup as both the Seahawks and Broncos are teams built for success. Obviously this game doesn't carry the same caliber as a regular season game would, but it will give us a look at the depth of both rosters as each team moves forward in the preseason.

Denver will be making their second straight appearance on the road this preseason, having won last week over the San Francisco 49ers, 10-6. Seattle is playing their first home game of the preseason. They won last week, beating up on the Chargers in San Diego, 31-10. The Seahawks led that game 7-3 at halftime before expoloding for 24 second half points in the route.

As with most teams in their second game of action, look for quarterbacks Russell Wilson to get some more snaps in tonight's game. Tavaris Jackson got the majority of the snaps last week and he will likely split time again tonight with Brady Quinn. The Seattle defense played very well last week, forcing two Charger turnovers and holding them to just 238 yards of total offense. If they give the same type of effort tonight they'll surely be picking up a win over Denver.

In last week's Denver/San Francisco game, neither team was able to score a touchdown offensively. The only non-field goal of the game was a Shaun Phillips 9-yard fumble return in the second quarter. Denver had just 220 yards of total offense in that game and Peyton Manning threw only four passes. I'd expect that to be about the same amount of work he gets in tonight against these Seahawks. C.J. Anderson looked pretty solid running the rock for the Broncos, who finished with just 117 yards on the ground.

The Seattle and Denver defenses are both very solid, even with their non-starters in the game. The total for the contest is sitting around 41 points. We'd anticipate the final score to be a bit lower than that, even if more of the starters play added minutes in tonight's contest. We would recommend playing the under or taking the Broncos to cover the number here tonight.
