The Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans will collide tonight at LP Field in Nashville as both squads open their 2013 NFL Preseason slates. This evening's Week 1 exhibition meeting between the Redskins and Titans is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ET. The latest Redskins vs Titans Betting Line from offshore bookmaker 5Dimes has Tennessee listed as a -3 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 35.5 points.
Titans Head Coach Mike Munchak likes the preseason; he is all about getting it done in exhibition play and his 6-2 record is proof of such. Last season Tennessee dropped its preseason opener 27-17 in Seattle, but went on to win its next three games 30-7, 32-27, and 10-6.
Munchak's first year on the job saw the Titans dominate in the preseason as well, going 3-1 with wins over Minnesota, Chicago, and New Orleans and a one point loss in St. Louis. Unfortunately the exhibition results have not translated all that well to the regular season as the Titans are 15-17 on Munchak's watch.
It would appear Tennessee has an opportunity to continue its preseason success tonight with the Redskins in town. Certainly Washington would be favored were this a regular season contest, but starting quarterback Robert Griffin III will not see action this evening or the rest of the preseason for that matter.
Washington is also working several rookies into its weak secondary, which means Jake Locker, who missed five games last year with a shoulder injury, and former Bills starter Ryan Fitzpatrick should have every opportunity to perform well.
