2014 NBA Title Odds — Heat favored to win third straight

http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/003/220/381/hi-res-170984050_crop_650x440.jpg?1371787407

This year's NBA season is finally in the books as the Miami Heat won back-to-back championships, this time taking out the San Antonio Spurs in seven games. This season's NBA Finals was one of the better ones in recent memory and the Heat's Big 3 got their second consecutive crown despite being one of the most disliked team in NBA history. The 2013-14 NBA Title Odds have already been released by William Hill in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guess what, the Miami Heat are still favored to win next year's title as well.

If the William Hill odds give us any indication of what could happen next season, it looks like we could get a repeat of the 2012 NBA Finals when the Miami Heat took on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kevin Durant's team has the best odds of any squad in the Western Conference, just ahead of the San Antonio Spurs who are listed at 7/1 odds. The Derrick Rose factory is obviously alive and well for the Chicago Bulls, as William Hill has put them as the second best team in the Eastern Conference odds-wise.They will certainly battle the Miami Heat throughout the regular season and potentially in the playoffs again next season.

The Indiana Pacers, who took the Heat to seven games in the East finals, are drawing 15/1 odds to win next year's NBA crown. They'd probably be a lot higher on the list if they actually had a point guard that played at an NBA All-Star level. Yet, Indiana is missing that and it has shown.

But who knows what free agency will do to the shifting power in the NBA heading into next season. All wagers made are final and will stay current until the NBA champion is crowned next June. There are several teams that are perennially in the NBA Lottery who are drawing just massive odds. One example is the Washington Wizards, who are 200/1 odds to win the NBA title next season. In other words, don't count on it.
