Saturday afternoon baseball and we will see the Boston Red Sox take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards in Baltimore. First pitch is scheduled for a 4:05 PM (Eastern) start time and the game will be televised locally. Current Betting Odds, according to Sportsbook.ag, have Boston listed as the favorite

Current Odds

Baltimore   +103

Analysis: The Boston Red Sox are seeing their lead shrink atop the American League East, and an inability to beat the Baltimore Orioles has a lot to do with it. The Red Sox were held to three hits Friday and have a .167 average with 11 runs over the last five games at Camden Yards. Dustin Pedroia is 3 for 18 over that span after hitting .344 during his first 15 games there. Boston is just 1-4 vs Baltimore this year and just 4-13 in their last 17 meetings in the series. Mike Napoli, who is tied for the team lead with 49 RBIs, missed Friday's game due to illness and is listed as doubtful for Saturday. John Lackey has been plagued by a lack of run support in a number of his starts but his last outing was not one of them. He was staked to a 6-0 lead before he even took the mound against Tampa Bay, but he struggled through 5 2/3 innings and was charged with four runs and 10 hits to extend his winless streak to three starts. Lackey is 11-4 with a 3.35 ERA in 19 career starts vs. the Orioles. Lackey allowed only three homers in his first seven starts but has been taken deep six times in his last three outings.

Winners of five of six overall, the Orioles made it back-to-back victories over the visiting Red Sox on Friday night and can close within a half-game of the division lead with a win today. Davis and Machado look to continue their respective success at the plate Saturday as they try to help the Orioles move even closer to the AL East-leading Red Sox. Davis and Machado are big reasons Baltimore is gaining ground. Davis hit his major league-leading 22nd homer and Machado had three hits with two doubles in Friday's 2-0 win. They had two hits apiece and combined for three RBIs a day earlier, when Davis' walkoff single secured a 5-4, 13-inning win. Freddy Garcia has turned out to be quite the find for the Orioles, who signed him after he was released by San Diego late in spring training. He won for the third time in four starts in his last outing, holding the Los Angeles Angels to two runs over six innings. Garcia has been stung by the long ball, surrendering six homers in his last two turns and 13 overall. The Orioles have received superb pitching from their bullpen, which has not allowed a hit in the last 9 1/3 innings over the past two games.

Pick: I will go with Boston to get one back here. John Lackey has struggled at night, but in his 3 day starts he is 2-1 with a solid 1.65 ERA and an 0.86 WHIP. Freddy Garcia is 1-1 in his 3 day starts, but with a 4.70 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. The Boston offense should get the better of the Baltimore offense as they look to increase their lead in the AL East.
