The Major League Baseball action continues tonight in Interleague Play when the Detroit Tigers take on the Washington Nationals. The game is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start time. Currently the odds for the game have the Tigers as a small road favorite.

Last night's game was rained out and postponed several hours before gametime was scheduled. That ended up being a pretty smart idea by Washington officials as it was raining throughout most of the time the game was being played.

Detroit and Washington are two teams that could play for a World Series title in a couple of months. But for now they take to the field in a short Interleague series with only two games. Both are being played in the nation's capital and Detroit will be looking to snag a couple of road wins.

In this game we have two pitchers with ERAs that are below 2.00 on the season. Detroit's Anibal Sanchez (3-2, 1.82 ERA) has dominated the Nationals in his career, when he was pitching for the then Florida Marlins. Sanchez holds a career mark of 8-0 with a 1.97 ERA in 19 career starts against Washington while with the Marlins. Opposing Sanchez will be Jordan Zimmermann (5-1, 1.64).

The Nationals have won four out of their last five games overall and tonight will look to keep pace with the National League East leading Atlanta Braves, who hold a 2.5 game lead entering tonight's games. Detroit has a single game lead over the Kansas City Royals in the American League Central so far, winning nine of their last 10 games overall and are one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball.

Nats outfielder Jayson Werth missed his third game in a row Sunday due to a strained right hamstring but expects to play Tuesday. Ryan Zimmerman, Adam LaRoche and Werth are batting a combined .206 versus Sanchez in his career against the Nats.

Omar Infante is the only Tiger other than Torii Hunter to face Zimmerman. They are a combined 3 of 17 against the Nationals' starter.

Tough to fade the Tigers here tonight. They have won nine of their last 10 games overall and are a very good road team. Look for them to get to Zimmerman while Sanchez will continue his great pitching against Washington.
