WWE Wrestlemania 29 Start Time

It’s that time of year again for WWE. It is time for WWE to put on it’s biggest show of the year. Most wrestling fans have heard the show called “The Granddaddy of Them All.” Tonight, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at Met Life Stadium where the New York Giants and the New York Jets both play their home games Wrestlemania 29 will be taking place. The start time for the event is 7:00 PM (Eastern) and will be televised live on Pay Per View. Odds for the matches are courtesy of Bovada.

Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett (+200) vs. The Miz (-300) (Pre-Show)

This is the pre-show match. Last Monday night on Raw the Miz said that this would be the "most must-see pre-show in WrestleMania history",  because he was on it? Oh Boy. Their issues began during a triple threat match for the strap, when the Brit faced off against the former reality star and nine-time Intercontinental Champ Chris Jericho. Miz seemed poised to win a thrilling match after landing the skull crushing finale on Y2J, but Barrett swooped in to steal the pin and retain. PREDICTION: The Miz

Tons of Funk & The Funkadactyls (-600) vs. Team Rhodes Scholars & The Bella Twins (+350)

The Bellas hooked up with Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow, who, for reasons that still haven't quite been explained, reformed the Rhodes Scholars just a couple weeks after breaking up. With Brodus Clay and Tensai having also teamed up to become Tons of Funk, with the Funkadactyls, Cameron and Naomi, following in tow, it was only natural that the respective squads would get together for a feud. PREDICTION: Tons of Funk &The Funkadactyls

Chris Jericho (+375) vs Fandango (-650)

When Jericho returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble, he did so with the understanding that he would only be working through WrestleMania season. Fandango debuted his character after a series of vignettes teased his arrival as a dancer with a goofy name. As it turned out, his character quirk was that he's a real stickler about how folks pronounce said name, and he began refusing to wrestle anyone unless they could properly pronounce it. No one could, of course, and he continued trolling fans for weeks on end.Jericho would continue the verbal assault, once again poking fun at Fandango's name like the true troll he is. But not to be outdone, Fandango, a troll in Jericho's shadow, simply walked out as though he was going to make a move and danced his way right back up the ramp. My thought is that Fandango will win because he's the "new" character that needs to make a big impact on the big stage. Jericho doesn't need wins. He can lose 200 matches in a row and still be considered one of the best ever because he is. PREDICTION: Fandaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaango

Ryback vs. Mark Henry (No Odds Listed)

he build to the match between these two has been brilliant in its simplicity. Too often WWE writers come up with convoluted storyline ideas that are made worse by McMahon when he rips up the script and demands rewrites mere hours before Monday Night Raw goes live on USA. There's been none of that here, or if there has it's been nearly impossible to tell. It started, quite simply, with the two crossing paths on the "Old School" episode of Raw and sharing a staredown. You could just feel the tension there, couldn't you? I think the finish is obvious, with Ryback hitting Shell Shocked for the win to give people that "did you just see that?" kind of moment. This one may be the easiest prediction on the card.. PREDICTION: Ryback

WWE Tag Team Championship: Team Hell No (-450) vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston (+275)

During their tumultuous seven month reign atop WWE's tag team division, Daniel Bryan and Kane's biggest competition seemed to be each other. But a Diva from their past has some new allies that could pose quite a challenge to them. Hell No has feuded off and on with most of the established tag teams in WWE over the course of their partnership. In story, they've vanquished Team Rhodes Scholars and the Prime Time Players. In reality, the lack of commitment to the division and absence of other babyface pairings for heel champions to face off against were cited for keeping the duo together and on top. Look for a big distraction by AJ Lee that will help Ziggler and Langston pull the upset. PREDICTION: Dolph Zigger and Big E Langston

Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show (+500) vs. The Shield (-900)

The Shield has been awesome since they turned up. WWE haven't really put a foot wrong with these guys and it's been tremendous not to see them end up like the Nexus or something. There are too many acts in WWE that are booked inconsistently, which hurts them. The way that Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns have been used is how we want to see young performers. The build to the match has seen the babyface team (I guess Show counts) look like a united group that has been able to prevent The Shield's attacks in the last few weeks. Will Orton turn heel in this one? Maybe, but I think if he does it will happen after the match. PREDICTION: Randy Orton, Sheamus and Big Show

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio (-400) vs. Jack Swagger (+250)

Del Rio had a lot of crowd support in Florida and Texas when he first turned face. It's been a different story at shows in the Northeast like Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Washington. The support isn't as strong. This WrestleMania crowd won't be much different. Babyface Alberto Del Rio has been fantastic since it started, and the fact that Jack Swagger has been given a chance at the ball is the same. No matter what, this story – or at least how this story started – was smart for what it was meant to be: attention seeking. There's no reason this match won't be good. Del Rio is good in the ring, and Swagger has shown sporadic glimpses of brilliance on his own part. As for a winner? PREDICTION: Alberto Del Rio, but watch for Ziggler afterwards.

No Holds Barred with Triple H's Career On The Line: Triple H (-600) vs. Brock Lesnar (+350)

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will return to the ring for the first time since August when he faces Triple H in one of the featured bouts. Lesnar's WrestleMania return has been long-awaited, dating back to October 2010. Following his UFC heavyweight title loss to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121, Lesnar infamously had a run-in with The Undertaker, who was being interviewed by Ariel Helwani at the time, with The Undertaker asking Lesnar, "You wanna do it?" That signaled Lesnar's intentions to return to professional wrestling, which he did the day after WrestleMania 28 last year. Obviously, with Triple H's career on the line here, this match takes on added importance. Lesnar, despite only owning a 1-1 record in two matches since his return to WWE last year, he has put fear in his opponents, busting open and dominating John Cena at Extreme Rules in April 2012 before falling, but he rebounded with a win over Triple H. Now, the two rematch here with Triple H looking to get his win back. The no holds barred stipulation should give these two a lot of latitude to have an exciting match, but don't expect blood in this one, as it's a true rarity in WWE these days. Paul Heyman will be in Lesnar's corner while WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be in Triple H's corner. Will either man have a role in the outcome? PREDICTION Triple H

The Streak on the Line: The Undertaker (-2000) vs. CM Punk (+800)

The Undertaker's WrestleMania Undefeated Streak is one of the most fabled things in all of professional wrestling. Even in a "sport" that is predetermined, somehow, someway, The Streak has managed to be completely special. The likes of Triple H and Shawn Michaels have failed to end it. Punk, after having a WWE Championship reign that lasted more than 400 days, comes in here looking to end The Streak, but it's not looking very good. The Undertaker will be fighting for his former manager Paul Bearer, who died unexpectedly last month, and has been mocked by Punk at every step along the way in the aftermath. The build for the match has been pretty good. It's the first WrestleMania in five years where Undertaker is in a babyface vs. heel match instead of the babyface vs. babyface setting of the last four. I say the streak lives on. PREDICTION: The Undertaker

WWE Championship: The Rock (+450) vs. John Cena (-800)

"Once in a Lifetime" has turned into "Twice in a Lifetime" as these two meet in the main event of WrestleMania for the second straight year. Rock defeated Cena in a much-anticipated match at last year's event, pinning him with the Rock Bottom in a 30-minute match in Rock's hometown of Miami. This year, both men made an impact at the Royal Rumble in January. Cena won the 30-man Royal Rumble match, earning a championship match at WrestleMania. Later in the show, Rock defeated CM Punk to win the WWE Championship, his first time holding the title since he lost it to Lesnar at SummerSlam 2002. Cena, of course, chose to face Rock, and, much like Triple H, is looking to get his win back after losing to Rock last year. There is a lot less steam on this match than last year's, despite some strong promo work from both men along the way. I think in terms of quality that this year's match will likely be better. Rock was winded last year. He wasn't in the best wrestling shape of his career. This year, he's had a couple of big matches with CM Punk at Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber, so I think he'll be more ready this time around. Having said that I feel that it will be Cena evening the score here.PREDICTION: John Cena
