The Indiana Pacers will shoot for a third consecutive road win tonight as they face the suddenly dangerous Dallas Mavericks at the American Airlines Center. Start time in this evening’s skirmish between the Pacers and Mavericks is set for 8:30pm ET; the game can be seen live on Fox Sports Midwest and Fox Sports Southwest. NBA Odds have Dallas listed as a -3.5 against the spread home favorite and the Over/Under set at 192 points. The Pacers are a +145 moneyline selection ($100 wins $145) to defeat the Mavericks.

Despite having won four of its last five games heading into last night’s meeting with the Rockets, Indiana was not expected to escape Houston with a victory. The Pacers, a 16-19 road team, were lined as six point road dog but they put it on the Rockets nonetheless.

Indiana’s vaunted defense limited the high scoring Rockets to 38.6 percent field goal shooting, helping it earn a critical 100-91 win. Offensively the Pacers were carried by Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson, who combined for 49 points on 20-of-31 shooting.

Indiana will face a less potent offense this evening in Dallas, but they meet a hot team all the same with the Mavs having won seven of their last 10 games. Dallas, which is drawing ever closer to a postseason appearance, notched its third straight win on Tuesday night by turning back the Clippers 109-102 at the American Airlines Center.

Six Mavericks scored in double figures in the win, but Dirk Nowitzki was the biggest offensive presence for Dallas. The 14 year veteran tallied 33 points after a 12-of-21 effort from the field and a 9-of-10 night from the charity stripe.

Indiana has won three of the last four games in this series, including the last meeting between the two teams in Dallas (98-87 last February); however, that win snapped a seven game Pacers losing streak in the Big D.

Notable Trends: The Pacers are 0-4 both straight up and against the spread this season when playing as a road dog off a road win.
