The St. Louis Cardinals aren't that far removed from a World Series title and they still believe they are an elite team in Major League Baseball. The oddsmakers tend to disagree with them being elite and believe they are more of a middle of the road type of team. A lot of that probably has to do with the pitching staff and its uncertainty and whether or not they can go another season getting key contributions from so many guys. The 2013 St. Louis Cardinals World Series Odds are listed below.
St. Louis will be without ace Chris Carpenter yet again this season as the veteran has been battling injuries the latter part of his career.
Kyle Lohse still hasn't figured out what he's going to do, so guys like Adam Wainwright and Lance Lynn will have to shoulder the bulk of the Cardinals season. St. Louis really didn't do much to improve the club this off-season, but everybody offensively comes back.
Yadier Molina had an amazing season and Allen Craig has filled in nicely at first base for the Cardinals. The outfield is ideal for the group from St. Louis with Carlos Beltran and Matt Holliday leading the way as they are middle of the order guys. The Cardinals have proven in the past that they can win when counted out and I wouldn't expect them not to make a run at this thing.
