The Miami Heat will look to extend their current win streak to seven games this evening when they battle the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in the Sooner State. Tonight’s meeting between the Heat and Thunder is scheduled to get underway at 8:00pm ET on TNT. The latest NBA Odds are favoring Oklahoma City at -5 against the spread; the Over/Under is set at 204.5 points. Miami is drawing +175 moneyline odds ($100 wins $175) to earn its second win of the season over the Thunder.

LeBron James has been considered the NBA’s best player for a while now, but the King has taken his game to a new level in recent weeks. James is averaging 30.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 6.5 assists over the last six games while shooting an astounding 73 percent from the field.

Not surprisingly, Miami, which has played its last five games at the AmericanAirlines Arena, went 6-0 in those outings, beating its opposition by an average of 11.8 points per game.

The Heat face a different challenge tonight, though. Oklahoma City, despite its 103-97 Christmas Day loss at Miami, has enough talent to overcome the streaking Heat, particularly at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Thunder are 23-3 at home this season, and they enter tonight’s game in a key situation, that is playing as a home favorite off a day of rest and a road loss. OKC, which fell 109-94 at Utah on Tuesday night, has been exceptional over the last three seasons in tonight’s scenario, earning a 15-0 straight up and 10-5 against the spread record.

Still, given the Thunder’s matchup issues with Miami and the way James is playing right now, the spread here seems a bit steep. The Heat, after the way they mowed through OKC in last year’s NBA Finals, will not be intimidated or apprehensive this evening and that makes them a very live dog at +5.
