The bragging rights in Washington will see the No. 25 Washington Huskies take on the Washington State Cougars in a battle for the Apple Cup in Friday College Football. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on FOX. Currently the odds for the game have Washington favored by 14 points.

Since getting punked by Arizona back in October, Washington's football team seems to have gotten things back on track. Even with four losses, the Huskies find themselves back in the BCS Top 25 and looking for their eighth win of the season. They'll take the field today against in-state rival Washington State, which is having a really tough year.

The Huskies have really improved their defense in the past month during their four-game winning streak. A victory in the Apple Cup game today would put them in a decent position to play in a good bowl game. Remember, this team played one of the toughest schedules in the country the first half of the season. Don't believe it? Washington's team took on third-ranked LSU, eighth-ranked Stanford, second-ranked Oregon and 11th-ranked USC in a span of five weeks. Ouch. Yet, they surprised that schedule and now find themselves in a pretty good position.

Washington State still hasn't won a conference game under new coach Mike Leach — they've gone 0-8. The Cougars will have to find a way to score points against this Washington defense, which has really come alive, not allowing more than 17 points in any of its last four games. A year ago, the Huskies gave up nearly 36 points and more than 450 yards per game. This year, they are allowing just 23 points and 350 yards per game.

Wazzou hasn't figured out which quarterback they are going to start, if it even matters. Leach said he's still deciding on whether Jeff Tuel or Connor Halliday will get the start, but both have struggled this season. We can't imagine it getting any better against the Huskies today. Halliday has thrown for 15 touchdowns this season but also has been picked off 13 times. Tuel has eight touchdowns and six interceptions. Not good numbers at all. Oh yeah, not previous mentioned above, but if Washington State can't win this game, it will be the second time in four season that they failed to have won a game during the Pac-12 season. Ouch.

We like Washington QB Keith Price, who has done well for his team the past few weeks, guiding them to scoring games of 34 and 38 points. He hasn't been great at all this year, but he's getting the job done lately and that should carry over into this game. We're expecting big things from Bishop Sankey, who has rushed for 13 touchdowns and more than 1,150 yards so far. He should help us in this contest today.

Washington State is just so bad that there's no way we can even back them getting 14 points at home. They are that bad. We like Washingotn to have a game where they cement themselves into getting a good bowl game with their eighth win.
