A battle in the Big Ten takes place in college football action as the Iowa Hawkeyes travel to take on the Michigan Wolverines. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 pm start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have Michigan favored by 17 points.

Michigan, the 21st-ranked team in the BCS standings, welcome in Iowa today for Senior Day in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines enter today's game with a 5-1 record in the Big Ten Conference and still have an outside shot at playing in the Big Ten championship game if somehow Nebraska can lose one of their final two games. The Cornhuskers hold the tie-breaker over Michigan by beating them outright on the field.

Iowa has a season that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The Hawkeyes need to win each of their final two games to become bowl eligible and we don't see that happening. Oddsmakers don't either as they've made Iowa a three-score underdog in today's game. It's the final home game of the year for Michigan and the final game game in Denard Robinson's career. Robinson has been sidelined the past few weeks with a nerve problem in his throwing arm and it's been reported that he can't thoroughly grip the football. It's the reason he hasn't played lately.

However, it doesn't seem to have slowed the Wolverines down. With Devin Gardner under center, Michigan has won two straight games, scoring 35 and 38 points. Michigan lost last year to Iowa in the team's only loss outside of getting beat by Michigan State. Surely the Wolverines will have some revenge on their minds in this one.

The Wolverines probably shouldn't have won last week, but they were able to pull off the win. Could they be looking ahead to Ohio State next week already? It doesn't seem likely as head coach Brady Hoke has not lost a game at Michigan Stadium so far in his career.

Iowa is pretty bad offensively. Michigan's defense is one of the best in the Big Ten and significantly improved. The Hawkeyes have lost four straight games and Iowa has averaged just 288 yards per game during that span. They've been destroyed on the ground in those games, being out-gained 832-312 on the ground.

Kirk Ferentz' team has traveled outside of the state of Iowa four times this season. In those four road games they've scored only six touchdowns.

Michigan has a ton of seniors on the squad and today's game will be their final one inside the Big House. Sure, they're season will be on the line next week taking on the Buckeyes in Columbus, but don't think they won't want to pound on Iowa for last season's loss as well. They won't get caught looking ahead with Iowa in town. We're expecting a big effort on both sides of the ball.
