Surprise leader of the ACC Coastal Division, Duke, will attempt to record its biggest win of the season this afternoon when it battles No. 12 Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee (3:30pm ET start time, ESPNU). Saturday College Football Odds have the Seminoles listed as a huge -27 against the spread home favorite; the Over/Under in today’s ACC contest is set at 57 points.

Not a soul would have predicted Duke’s 6-2 start or its 3-1 conference record; however, as the 27 point spread in today’s game would indicate, the Blue Devils are still seeking some respect.

Duke earned a huge 33-30 home win over North Carolina last weekend, but the victory marked its first of the season against a winning team. The Blue Devils four other FBS wins came against Florida International, Memphis, Wake Forest, and Virginia, which are a combined 8-23.

Duke can officially make believers out of everyone with a win this afternoon, though, as the Seminoles are one of the top teams in the country.

Florida State presently heads up the Atlantic Division with a 4-1 conference record and a 7-1 overall mark, and it is 5-0 at Doak Campbell this season where it has out paced the opposition by an average of 45.8 points per game.

And talk about owning a rivalry, the Seminoles are 17-0 all time against the Blue Devils, beating them by an average of 34.2 points per game.

This looked like a letdown spot for Florida State when its schedule came out with Duke sitting between road games at Miami and Virginia Tech; however, with the Hokies floundering and the Devils leading the Coastal Division, it no longer qualifies. Duke and everyone else can expect to see a motivated Seminoles team this afternoon.
