Two reeling Pac-12 squads, Washington and Arizona, will attempt to get their problems corrected tonight when they collide at Arizona Stadium in Tucson. Start time in this evening’s meeting between the Huskies and Wildcats is set for 10:00pm ET; the game will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Network. Washington’s positive 3-1 start has transformed into mediocre middle as it enters tonight’s game with a 3-3 record. The Huskies crash back to earth came after they upset Stanford three weeks ago, a victory they followed with a 52-21 loss to Oregon and a 24-14 loss to USC.
Arizona represents an opportunity for Washington to get back on track, but nothing about its performance in two away games suggests it will beat the frustrated Wildcats. Granted, the Huskies two road games came against LSU and Oregon, but they were still outscored 93-24.
Like Washington, Arizona’s season started in grand fashion with the team winning its first three games, but it has since lost three straight. The Wildcats were embarrassed 49-0 at Oregon before turning in solid but losing efforts against Oregon State (38-35) and Stanford (54-48 OT).
Arizona is 3-1 at home this season, though, where it has wins over Toledo, Oklahoma State, and South Carolina State.
The Huskies own an 18-9 edge in this rivalry series, but the Wildcats have won three of the last five meetings between the two schools. Arizona is also 2-0 in its last two home games against Washington, earning 44-14 and 48-14 wins over the Huskies.
