Saturday Night College Football Ohio State Buckeyes at Indiana Hoosiers: Start Time, Odds

The Big Ten's best team is the Ohio State Buckeyes. On Saturday night they travel to take on the Indiana Hoosiers. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 pm start time and it will be televised live on the Big Ten Network. Currently the odds for the game have Ohio State favored by 18 points.

Indiana nearly knocked off Michigan State at home last week, but came up short. Ohio State is clearly the best team in the beat up Big Ten this season, but they're unable to play in the Big Ten title game or in a bowl. So the conference is left with trying to figure out who will be their representative in the BCS this coming season. It could be anybody. Well, anybody but the Buckeyes, anyway.

The Hoosiers have seen a trend of nine straight OVER bets after three or more consecutive losses outright the past three seasons. In other words, there's a good chance that a lot of points are going to be scored tonight. We're not sure if the Buckeyes can cover the 18 points on the road, but we are sure that both teams are going to be able to score some points tonight.

Last year the Hoosiers lost by 14 points in the Horseshoe in Columbus, so the point spread is a bit odd to us. However, Urban Meyer is in town now and Luke Fickel isn't running the team anymore. That might have something to do with the spread being more points than Ohio State won by last year. Hell, even last year the Indiana Hoosiers were only down by a touchdown after three quarters of action.

Ohio State just absolutely rolled over Nebraska last week, running up 8 yards per play on offense. Yes, every time they ran a play. Indiana has to face that for 60 minutes tonight, although we do think the Buckeyes have a bit of a letdown after a big win last week where they scored 63 points. Next week Ohio State plays at home against Purdue. The Bucks have averaged 38.5 points per game this season and 248 yards rushing per game, which ranks 11th in the country. They don't pass the ball very often, but they are effective when they have to put it in the air.

We are expecting a high scoring matchup tonight and we think Indiana is going to be able to hang around in this one. The Hoosiers have been able to prove to themselves that they can competed with some of the better teams in the Big Ten and tonight, they'll get the best of that group. The Buckeyes are primed for a potential season where they'll only lost one or at most two games. We don't think this will be one of them, but we are expecting the Hoosiers to keep it close.
