The Kentucky Wildcats are in Razorback country tonight as they take on fellow SEC squad Arkansas at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville (7:00pm ET start time, ESPN3). College Football Odds are anticipating a fifth straight loss for the Wildcats as they are a -18.5 against the spread road underdog. Tonight’s game total is set at 54.5 points.
Arkansas’ woeful season experienced a ray of sunshine last weekend thanks to the Auburn Tigers. The Razorbacks snapped a four game skid by taking out Gene Chizek’s squad 24-7 in Auburn.
The win brought Arkansas’ record to 2-4 and it also provided the Razorbacks, who were expected to finish third behind Alabama and LSU in the SEC West, their first cover of the season.
If Arkansas thought it was having a bad season it can at least take solace in the fact that Kentucky is having a worse one. The Wildcats are a miserable 1-5 entering this evening’s game and they have dropped four straight, including three in a row to conference opposition.
Kentucky got blitzed 38-0 by Florida, 38-17 by South Carolina and 27-14 by Mississippi State to bring its league record to 0-3 both straight up and against the spread.
Being non-division rivals, these two schools have not played since October of 2008. Kentucky has won four of the last five in the series, but it has dropped nine of its last 10 as a road dog against an SEC opponent (3-7 against the spread in those games).
