Sunday Night Football Preview New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles Start Time, Odds

It's an NFL rivalry game in prime time as the New York Giants travel to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. The game is scheduled for an 8:20 pm EST start time and it will be televised nationally on NBC. Currently the odds have the Eagles favored at home by a field goal.

The New York Giants proved last week with a blowout win against the Carolina Panthers that they probably are the best road team in the NFL. While many won't consider that a big win, they're wrong. Any time you can go on the road in a prime time atmosphere and blow out a team in their own building, it's a good win.

Eli Manning seems to be playing like a person from another planet lately, having led the Giants to 61 points in their last five quarters overall. That's some gaudy numbers. He has been getting some amazing protection from his offensive line as well, avoiding sacks and being able to get the football into the right people's hands. It's believed that Ahmad Bradshaw, Hakeem Nicks and even David Diehl are going to be able to play in this one tonight, so make sure to check out that injury report. However, we're being told that they're going to play. Plus the squad had a few extra days of rest, having played the Panthers on Thursday night last week.

Philly has a lot of explosive players on the offensive side of the football and they're led by quarterback Mike Vick. The Giants defense might be the best he has seen so far this season and with all the bad blood between these two clubs, be sure that the Giants are going to get after Vick and the Eagles with disguised blitzes and pressure.

One thing worth noting is that Philly has been able to dominate this series as of late. The Eagles have won and covered the spread in seven of the last eight meeting in this series. They've also been able to hold the Giants under 20 points in five of those contests as well.

Philly did get beat up by the Cardinals last week and the Eagles have now turned the football over 12 times this season. That's simple not going to keep them around moving forward this season. Martellus Bennett has somehow emerged as just another weapon for the Giants on offense but he's never scored a touchdown against the Eagles. But then again, the Cowboys really didn't use their tight ends effectively unless they were throwing to Jason Witten.

We really like the Giants in this game based on their dominance on the road this season (and last year) and their offense. We really don't think that the Eagles defense is going to be able to stop the Big Blue attack. The Eagles have had the Giants number lately, but we think that ends tonight as the Giants rumble in and take a big win from Philly.
