The league’s biggest surprise (which saying something this season), the Arizona Cardinals, looks to keep its unblemished record intact this afternoon as it plays host to the lowly Dolphins (4:05pm ET start time, CBS). Miami Dolphins vs Arizona Cardinals Odds are, obviously, siding with Arizona as it is presently lined as a -5 against the spread home favorite. Miami is drawing +190 moneyline odds to win outright while the game total is set at 40.5 points.
Arizona shocked the football world two weeks ago by handing the vaunted Patriots a loss at Gillette Stadium, but the stunning victory earned the club little respect. The Cardinals returned home last weekend to find themselves a 3.5 point home dog to the Philadelphia Eagles.
How did Arizona respond to the slap in the face? It put a 27-6 whipping on Michael Vick and company to move to 3-0 in the season.
This weekend represents a big letdown sport for the Cardinals, though. They opened with a divisional game against Seattle before facing what most consider two of the league’s best teams. Now Arizona gets a 1-2 Miami squad that has a rookie quarterback and a first time head coach.
While the Dolphins are not considered much of a threat, they did show something in a week two win over Oakland and they fought hard in last week’s setback against the Jets. The Cardinals are rightly favored, but Arizona is not so good that a team like Miami has no chance at all of keeping things close.
NFL Sunday Miami Dolphins vs Arizona Cardinals Odds:
Miami Dolphins +5 (-110), Over 40.5 (-110), +190 (Moneyline)
Arizona Cardinals -5 (-110), Under 40.5 (-110), -220 (Moneyline)
