Two Mountain West teams desperate for a win, Colorado State and Air Force, will square off today at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs (2:00pm ET start time). Colorado State vs Air Force Odds expect the Falcons to halt their two game skid this afternoon as they come into this conference tilt a -14.5 against the spread favorite. Today’s game total is set at 58 points.
Air Force has not suffered through a losing season since 2006, but should it fall to the Rams today that streak may be in jeopardy. The Falcons opened the season with a 49-21 win over Idaho State, but they have since falling at Michigan and at UNLV.
While Air Force was expected to lose to the Wolverines, it went into last week meeting with the Rebels as 10 point road favorite. The Falcons squandered a 28-17 first half lead and they needed a late touchdown to draw within three of UNLV (38-35).
Colorado State predicament is even worse as it sits 1-3 through four games and it is unlikely to be favored until an October 27th home meeting with Hawaii.
Like the Falcons, the Rams opened their season on a good note, beating in-state rival Colorado 22-17 at Sports Authority Field in Denver; however, it has since lost to FCS school North Dakota State (22-7), San Jose State (40-20), and Utah State (31-19).
Given Colorado State’s recent track record against Air Force (has lost its last five meetings with the Falcons by an average of 17.6 points per game) a 1-4 start to the season seems almost a foregone conclusion. Perhaps the Rams only assurance of avoiding a fourth consecutive loss is the fact that Air Force is not a state school.
Colorado State vs Air Force Odds:
Colorado State Rams +14.5 (-110), Over 58 (-110), +425 (Moneyline)
Air Force Falcons -14.5 (-110), Under 58 (-110), -550 (Moneyline)
