Boston College will attempt to avoid a 1-3 start today when it welcomes Atlantic Division rival Clemson to Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill. Start time in this ACC clash is scheduled for 3:30pm ET on ESPN2. Clemson vs Boston College Odds are favoring the visiting Tigers at -7 against the spread while the Over/Under is set at 59.5 points.
Clemson hung tough for a while, but it eventually succumbed to a powerful Florida State squad 49-37 last weekend in Tallahassee for its first loss of the season. The Tigers, who went into their meeting with the Seminoles as a 14 point road dog, actually held a 28-14 lead early in the third quarter, but they were unable to contain E.J. Manuel and company down the stretch.
Clemson, which ran through Auburn, Ball State, and Furman prior to its meeting with the Seminoles, should get back on track today against a 1-2 Boston College team.
The Eagles, who averaged fewer than 19 points per game each of the last two seasons, do appear to have improved on offense, totaling 32 points in their opener against Miami and 34 points in a week two win over Maine. However, it is doubtful they have near enough firepower to keep pace with a far more talented Clemson team.
The Tigers made that painfully evident last season when they rolled over BC 36-14 in Clemson. Dabo Swinney’s crew totaled 500 yards of offense in that contest as Tajh Boyd threw for 283 yards and one touchdown and running back Andre Ellington produced 117 yards and one score on 22 carries.
Boston College should put up a better fight at home; however, unless Clemson spent the entire week sulking over its loss to FSU, the Tigers win by double digits again.
