It's an SEC showdown on Saturday night between the LSU Tigers and the Auburn Tigers. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 pm EST start time and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds for the game have the LSU Tigers favored by 19.5 points.

LSU has smoked everyone in their first three games but tonight will finally get a chance to go on the road in a hostile environment tonight. Auburn has had a huge fall from grace and winning the national championship just a few years ago, sitting at just 1-2 overall on the season. They've been outscored by an average of more than a touchdown in their games as well. Remember, their only win of the season came over UL-Monroe last week.

Les Miles and the Tigers have won four of the last five meetings in this series. Yet, in games played at Auburn the last four have been decided by less than a touchdown. In other words, there's always a chance for this to be a good, close game. LSU smashed Auburn last year 45-10. Newcomer QB Zach Mettenberger has been impressive, completing 72 percent of his passes so far and throwing for more than 600 yards total. Another impressive number? Auburn has been OUTGAINED by 318 yards this season by their opponents. How does that happen?

Gene Chizik has been pretty efficient as coach of Auburn in the SEC when the Tigers play at home. But, just how good is Chizik overall? If we take Cam Newton's wins out of the equation for the head coach, he's just 22-31 overall. Chizik currently holds a 10-2 against the number mark when the Tigers play at home in SEC games. That could come into play today. But don't jump in with both feet just yet. LSU has won all eight of their games against the spread after playing a game at home the last two seasons.

It's obviously a rivalry game between these two clubs and LSU is the big, bad club on the block right now. They're rolling along by scoring 48 points per game but the defense has been the impressive part. The Tigers have allowed just 10 points per game to their three opponents. Here's something interesting to consider — LSU was forced to cancel a practice for the second time this season Monday because of a bomb threat that required a campus evacuation. Could that have some type of factor in tonight's game?

We know it's going to be a major physical, bruising battle in this one tonight. There's no doubt it's going to be a fun clash as well.

We're going to take LSU in this one tonight. They're the better team overall and we feel they are going to smash Auburn in every facet of the game. LSU 41, Auburn 17
