Arkansas will attempt to overcome its disastrous start to the season tomorrow when it faces an undefeated Rutgers squad at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville (7:00pm ET start time, ESPNU). College Football Rutgers vs Arkansas Odds have the hosting Razorbacks listed as -360 moneyline favorite ($360 wins $100 or 78.2 percent implied probability). Arkansas is giving 8.5 points to the visiting Knights while the game total is set at 50.5 points.

Arkansas began the season in the top 25 and it stayed there despite a lackluster opening against Jacksonville State. It was not so fortunate, however, after falling 31-34 in overtime at Louisiana-Monroe. The Razorbacks further separated themselves from the nation’s elite or, rather, Alabama did with a 52-0 humiliation in front of capacity crowd in Fayetteville.

The only positive from last weekend’s meeting with the Crimson Tide is that Arkansas can claim its best player, quarterback Tyler Wilson, was not a part of it. Certainly Wilson’s presence would have made a difference in the game as his replacement, freshman Brandon Allen, threw for 60 yards and two interceptions.

Fortunately for the Razorbacks they do get Wilson back for today’s game as they face a 3-0 Rutgers squad fresh off a road upset of Big East rival South Florida. The Scarlet Knights marched into Tampa as an 8.5 point dog and turned back the Bulls 23-13. Rutgers registered four turnovers in the win, leading to a 38:34 to 21:26 time of possession advantage.

It is safe to assume the Knights will not benefit from three interceptions tonight as they did in last week’s win over USF. Wilson should help get the Razorbacks offense back on track; however, Rutgers has enough weapons on both sides of the ball to make this a competitive game.

Free Pick: Take Rutgers +8.5. The Knights are 3-4 straight up and 7-0 against the spread in their last seven games as a road dog in the month of September.
