It's an old-school matchup in the final NFL Preseason day of 2012 as the Chicago Bears take on the Cleveland Browns. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm EST start time and it will be televised locally in both markets. Currently the odds have the Browns favored by 3 points.
This is an old-school contest here between old school teams. It might not necessarily be considered a "rivalry" because they play in different leagues, but they are only separated by a few hundred miles. Both teams should be pretty good this season. Well, the Bears are considered to be one of the teams in the NFC that will contend for a playoff spot while the Browns are looked at being one of the teams on a rise. I like the Browns this year, however. They to me seem to be a club that could surprise some folks and make a pretty big impact on things in that AFC North.
Really like the additions of Brandon Weeden and Trent Richardson for the Cleveland Browns. Two hard-nosed good football players, albeit rookies, that will help them succeed in the future. Many people considered Richardson to be the best overall player in the draft last season, but quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III went ahead of him. The Browns were able to get their guy at the third pick and also picked up their quarterback, so they seem to be pretty happy. Tonight's contest will see Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall take to the field, more the likely, for a little bit. Not entirely sure how much the starters will see on the field tonight, but we're expecting them to at least start the game and get a series or two. We'll see.
The Bears and Browns both have 2-1 records to this point in the preseason and both have been fun to watch. I think this is going to be a slugfest between two clubs and I don't anticipate a whole lot of scoring in this one.
