Jacksonville welcomes in the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night in NFL Preseason action. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. EST start time and it will be televised locally in both markets. Currently the odds for the game have the Jaguars favored by a field goal.
This will be the fourth and final preseason game for both squads, who will open the regular season next week. The Jacksonville Jaguars host the Falcons, who have just a 1-2 record so far and have gotten beat by both Baltimore and Cincinnati at home this year. of heir only road game to date saw Atlanta top Miami 23-6 last week as Matt Ryan did an impressive job. The Jacksonville Jaguars still aren't sure when they are going to get their best player, Maurice Jones-Drew, back on the field as he is holding out for what appears to be the long haul.
MJD doesn't feel that he's paid enough money, so he's deciding not to play for his squad. The team has openly remarked that they won't trade him, so it appears he's only hurting himself. The Jags beat the NY Giants and the New Orleans Saints earlier this preseason, but did get beat by Baltimore last week by 31 points. The Ravens scored 35 second half points in that game while Jacksonville was able to post 14 fourth quarter points.
It will be interesting to see what the fans of the Jaguars will do this season at home games. The NFL has already said they will play a handful of "home games" in London next season, so how will the city of Jacksonville react? The Jags routinely aren't able to sell out their home games and even though they have several good, young players, the NFL seems pretty serious about planting a team across the pond in London.
In what is final preseason game of the year for both teams, expect some of the starters to play close to a full half in this game. The total is hovering right around 37 points for the game, so don't expect the same style of scoring both teams have put up in the past few weeks.
