The Washington Redskins travel to take on the Chicago Bears in an NFL Preseason matchup at Soldier Field. The game is scheduled for an 8:00 pm EST start time. Currently the odds for the game have the Bears favored by just 1 point with the total set at 37 points.
In the opening game of the Robert Griffin III era in Washington, the Redskins picked up a 7-6 win over the Buffalo Bills. They won that game on the road too. Tonight they will have that unfamiliarity as well, traveling to Chicago. The Bears dropped their opening game of the 2012 NFL Preseason in impressive fashion. No, they weren't impressive, but the fact that they were blown out at home was kind of impressive. Denver now has Peyton Manning, yes, but he only threw seven passes. One of those was a pick. So no, it wasn't Peyton that beat up on the Bears. And yet, somehow they still managed to give up 31. Yikes. Griffin III is a pleasure to watch, but he still has a lot to work on as well. The Redskins played pretty well on defense in that opening game, so maybe we will see more of that tonight. The Bears on the other hand also have their QB in Jay Cutler. And they managed to get a wide receiver in Brandon Marshall that is good, and has a track record with Cutler. This could be good for the Bears. And looking at it from a Preseason perspective is interesting. Everyone is all excited because it's football in August, but the Bears shouldn't be concerned yet. Well, until Brian Urlacher can't come back from his injury. Then you get upset.
Free Pick: We like the Bears. They managed to give up a ton of points in their first game, but we really don't see the Redskins being able to put up 31, especially with a rookie quarterback. However, we do expect to see an entertaining game. The under looks very nice here in this contest as we are expecting both offenses to struggle some. I guess we'll see.
