It is difficult to label the Detroit Lions 2011 season a surprise as many felt the team had enough talent to secure a spot in the playoffs; however, given the club’s pathetic run over the previous decade, it was, indeed, a shocker. It would appear that the odds makers at Sportsbook.ag are lukewarm of the Lions chances of reaching the post-season this year, though. Detroit Lions 2012 NFL Predictions at the offshore book have the Lions season win total set at nine games and they are a +500 moneyline play ($100 to win $500) to win the NFC North. The latest Super Bowl Odds for the Lions are middle of the pack with the team drawing +2500 to win Super Bowl XLVII.
Unfortunately for the Lions they have become known more for their off the field legal troubles than the 10-6 season which resulted in the franchise’s first playoff berth since 1999. Should they learn to curtail/eliminate their illegal activities and back up last year’s solid 16 game effort, perception would change rather quickly.
Detroit is hoping for just that as its top five offense became more potent with the additions of rookies Riley Reiff (tackle – Iowa) and Ryan Broyles (wide receiver – Oklahoma). The Lions also added eight defensive players (six through the draft and two by free agency) to help shore up their occasionally leaky defense.
Cantor Gaming of Las Vegas apparently believes the added depth, both offensively and defensively, as well as the continued progression of quarterback Matthew Stafford will help Detroit maintain the momentum it generated with last season’s turnaround. Cantor has the Lions favored in 10 of 15 games this season (released 2012 NFL regular season point spreads for weeks one through 16); despite a schedule that includes meetings with San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Houston in addition to its divisional showdowns opposite Chicago and Green Bay.

I don't know...I see 9 wins as a real Push possibility. Detroit could provide a good 'middle' opportunity if one were to find them at 8 and 10.
