Major League Baseball continues on Wednesday night in a National League West battle. The Colorado Rockies travel to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third and final game of their series. The game is scheduled for a 9:40 p.m. EST start time and it will be televised nationally on MLB.tv and locally on FOX Sports Arizona. The odds for the game currently have the Diamondbacks favored at -175 with the total for the game set at 9 runs.

Free Analysis: The Colorado Rockies were supposed to be contenders at the beginning of the season but have been one of the worst overall in 2012. Injuries have plagued this team in addition to a lack of decent, if any, starting pitching that is actually any good. The Rocks currently sit 24 games under the .500 mark with a 36-60 record overall and they've been atrocious on the road at 16-31. Arizona, on the other hand, sits a game above the .500 level at 49-48 and are only six games back of the San Fransisco Giants in the National League West. Rumors have swirled around the Diamondbacks about them being potential sellers at the deadline, but it appears that they have intentions of keeping slugger Justin Upton on the squad. They have some decent starting pitching and a pretty potent lineup that can score a lot of runs, so who knows what will happen in that National League West race? Tonight's D-Backs starter Trevor Cahill had alternated wins and losses in his last four starts and still sports a pretty decent ERA at 3.77 overall. Colorado starter Jeff Francis has a 2-2 record overall but has an ERA north of 5.0, which is especially bad in the National League. The D-Backs are looking to win their sixth straight game and are probably going to sweep the Rockies out of town. Upton and Chris Young have both gone deep twice against Francis, who is allowing current Arizona hitters to club a .367 average against him.

Free Pick: We've always preached money management on Pregame, and the -175 line for the Diamondbacks is very steep by our standards, but I still think it's a valuable line. The Diamondbacks are one of the hotter teams in baseball right now and are clubbing their way back into the National League West race. In fact, they currently sit just four games back in the Wild Card standings as well. There's a lot of baseball left to be played and I think the Diamondbacks are probably not going to fade anytime soon. They should blast their way past Colorado tonight for an easy win.
