Just four teams remain in the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament, which gets underway on Wednesday afternoon. Both Spain and Portugal will meet up on Wednesday for the right to play for a European championship. The UEFA Euro 2012 semifinal matchup Spain vs. Portugal start time is set for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and it will be televised nationally on ESPN. Currently the odds have Spain as a pretty comfortable favorite to reach the Euro Finals.

The 2012 UEFA Euro 2012 semifinals odds between Spain and Portugal have the Spanish favored to advance at -240, courtesy of the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly the Hilton). The odds on Spain indicate the team has nearly a 71 percent chance to advance to the EURO 2012 Finals against either Germany or Italy. The Portugal odds are set at +200, which indicates just under a 33 percent chance to advance.

Spain was considered prior to the tournament starting to be one of the two or three teams that possibly could win the whole thing. Now they are just one win away from being able to play for the trophy. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored three times for the Portuguese in the tournament so far, but he's really been the only significant scoring threat for Portugal in the tournament. Portugal has scored six times in four games, but three of those tallies were scored in a 3-2 win over Denmark. They were shutout early by Germany and have one goal wins over the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. The key for Portugal will be what the key for every team playing Spain is — don't fall behind.

The Spanish are the best team in the world at ball handling, dictating style of play and controlling the ball. They've proven that so far in the tournament by beating up on everyone they play including France, Croatia, Ireland and Italy. In fact, only the Italians were able to get a mark against Spain back in pool play, tying them 1-1 in both clubs opening game. Cesc Fábregas, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres have all scored twice in the tournament while David Silva is orchestrating the entire game.

Spain is going to be really tough to beat and I'm not sure Portugal has the fire power to be able to counter their impressive attack. The Spanish can score and it they score early, it's probably going to be lights out for Portugal, even with their flashy players. We think Spain wins 2-1 or so.
