NBA Finals Odds: Heat favored

The Miami Heat picked up a win in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to take a 2-1 series lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Both teams had been considered favorites to win the NBA title when the series was tied at 1-1, even though the Heat had picked up a road win in OKC.
Now, after picking up a home win in Game 3, the Miami Heat are gaining some momentum on the betting board. The NBA Finals odds have the Miami Heat favored at -185 odds to hoist the trophy. Those odds indicate the Heat have a 64 percent chance to win two more games in the Finals and win the NBA Championship.

Oklahoma City could get right back into the series by picking up a win in Game 4 of the series, which will be played on Tuesday night in Miami. The Thunder had won all previous nine games at home during this year's NBA post season, but the loss to the Heat in Game 2 showed some weaknesses from the Thunder. Now, the Heat pick up a win at home to hold a series lead and Oklahoma City is in a bad spot. Their NBA Finals odds are set at +165 (Risk $100 to bring back $165), which imply the Thunder have a 36 percent chance to win three of the next four games to win the NBA Championship.

The problem for Oklahoma City in the next two games is that they are on the road. Miami actually has a chance to close this series out at home, if they are able to win the next two games. I guess that's the benefit of picking up a road win in one of the two openers when playing on the road. That in itself was pretty impressive, seeing as the Thunder hadn't lost in the playoffs yet at home.

The question is whether or not LeBron can finally win his first NBA title. He's just two wins away, meaning he's never been closer to a championship. He has really taken the next step in this post season and has been the go-to guy for the Heat so far in this NBA Finals. Typically, Heat fans would probably be concerned over Dwayne Wade not playing up to his potential or having impressive games, but James has done more than enough to help lead this team to the brink of an NBA title.
