Wednesday Night in MLB and we will see the New York Yankees take on the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field in Atlanta The game is scheduled for a 7:10 pm start time and it will be televised live on ESPN. Currently the odds have the Braves favored at -107, while the Yankees are a dog of +101. The total for the game is at 8.5 runs.

Free Analysis: Hiroki Kuroda and Tim Hudson may be bruised and sore, but that won't stop the two respective hurlers from making starts this evening in the finale of a three-game series between the New York Yankees and hosting Atlanta Braves. Kuroda is set to take the hill for the Yankees despite taking a liner off his left foot in last Friday's gem versus the Mets. The right-hander suffered only a contusion, not a fracture, but did leave the ballpark on crutches.  Hiroki (5-6, 3.46) looks to continue his stellar pitching. He yielded one hit over seven scoreless innings in last Friday's 9-1 win over the Mets to improve to 2-0 with a 0.82 ERA in his last three outings. Kuroda has a 2.10 ERA in five career meetings with the Braves, but just a 1-4 record. He should get better run support in this one. The Yanks are 7th in scoring at 4.75 rpg, including averaging 5 rpg on the road, plus they are tops in HR's with 95. Alex Rodriguez has the most RBIs in the history of interleague play, while Derek Jeter has the most hits and runs.  The Yanks art led by two of the best (offensively ) in inter league play, A-Rod and Derek Jeter.. Last night A-Rod hit his 23rd career grand slam to match Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig's all-time record in a six-run eighth inning as the Yankees rallied for a 6-4 victory. He's now got 194 interleague RBIs, which is the most in the history of interleague play. Jeter is up to 334 career interleague hits and 189 runs (Both league bests) after going 2 for 5 with two runs scored Tuesday. He's batting .404 in 10 career regular-season games at Turner Field, where he went 4 for 9 to earn 1999 World Series MVP honors. Nick Swisher capped New York's rally from four runs down in the eighth with a go-ahead, two-run homer after Rodriguez tied the contest. The Yankees are now seeking their first six-game winning streak since Sept. 1-6. Trying to stop this offense of the Yanks will be the aging Tim Hudson. Tim is 4-2 with a 3.83 ERA, and 2-1 with a 5.92 ERA at home on the year, but he has not pitched since his five-hitter June 5 in an 11-0 rout at Miami. The right-hander was bothered by bone spurs in his ankle during that effort, pushing back his next start. He had no major issues in a bullpen session Monday. Hudson is 1-3 with a 3.78 ERA in 10 career regular-season starts against the Yankees, a team he has not faced since 2006 and he may struggle with Rodriguez, who is 14 for 39 with three homers off him. Hudson is 4-0 with a 1.29 ERA in his last four interleague home starts after going 0-5 with a 7.84 ERA in his first six at Turner Field. Offensively the Braves average 4.9 rpg and hit a solid .261 at home, but the pitching that was to be so great has an ERA of 4.84 at home on the year, which has created some high scoring games at Turner this year. New York (36-25) is 163-109 all-time in interleague play, including a 6-2 mark this year and they are 8-2 all-time at Turner field.

Free Pick: Tim Hudson is getting up there in age and for the past year plus it has shown some when he comes off a high pitch count game. Dating back to the beginning of 2011 Tim has mad 41 starts and he has a 3.34 ERA overall in those starts, but he has an ERA a full point higher (4.36) in the 15 starts he has coming off a game in which he threw 100+ pitches ( I did a little work on that one. LOL). He has one start this year off a game in which he threw 108 pitches and he allowed 5 ER's in just 5.2 innings of work in that game. Tim has a 3.83 ERA overall, but a 5.92 ERA at home and he has allowed 12 ER's in his last 2 home starts. The Yankee hitters should be able to tag him for a few in this one and then once Tim is out he will turn the ball over to a pen that has a 5.224 ERA at home. Hiroki Kuroda has a nice 0.82 ERA in his last 3 starts, but a 4.17 ERA on the road this year and a 4.40 ERA at night. The Braves offense has been good at home this year Averaging 4.9 rpg and should be good for a few off of Hiroki. NY Road games have averaged 9.2 rpg, while Brave home games have put up 10.1 rpg. I see at least 10 in this game.
