The winds of conference realignment are picking up again, and much of the breeze has been blowing around the ACC; however, the conference will remain in tact this season, which is good news for Florida State fans according to recently released 2012 ACC Football Championship Odds. Jimbo Fisher’s Seminoles, at -125 moneyline odds, are a prohibitive favorite to win the ACC in what could be their final season in the 12 team league.
ACC Favorites
Florida State Seminoles (-125): FSU’s return to national prominence began with 2010’s 10 win season and it continued last year, despite what some might label a disappointing 9-4 campaign. With a healthy E.J. Manuel under center, the Seminoles appear poised to keep the charge going. Florida State’s biggest threats to the ACC crown are Virginia Tech and defending champion Clemson.
Virginia Tech Hokies (+300): Head Coach Frank Beamer has guided the Hokies to three conference titles since 2007 and he could garner another this season with quarterback Logan Thomas and nine starters from last year’s stonewall defense back in the fold. The ACC title could come down to a November 8th meeting with Florida State in Blacksburg.
Clemson Tigers (+500): The Tigers return 14 starters (six on offense/seven on defense) from a 10-4 squad that beat Virginia Tech (twice) and Florida State. If you are looking for value, Clemson, which also brings in another top ranked recruiting class, represents plenty of it at +500 odds.
